Claimants have say if firm folds
Two former Ansvar policyholders managed to get changes made to the insurer's proposed payment scheme, which was approved by the High Court on Tuesday, giving the claimants a bit more say on how claims are paid if the company goes under.

Alice Bassett-Smith and her United States-born husband married in 2000, lived together in both New Zealand and the US, divorced in 2008 and have both moved on. So, she was stunned when telephoned "out of the blue" by a Catholic priest a month ago and told her former husband had applied to a church marriage tribunal in the US to have their marriage annulled.

'Respond with compassion' to refugees: Australians ask Kiwi parliamentarians
Plans to lock-up refugees arriving in groups to New Zealand have drawn concern from across the Tasman. The Australian Catholic Migrant and Refugee Office (ACMRO) has opposed the mandatory detention provisions in the Immigration Amendment Bill, in a written submission on the Bill currently before Parliament.
