Bob Houston: Debate for Justin du Fresne (audio report)
Former Newstalk ZB host Justin du Fresne was a big supporter of the Kapiti Catholic church before his death last year. The church is trying to raise money for a new chapel, and is organising a debate with a host of well known New Zealanders to help. Bryan Waddle, Jim Bolger, Judge Sir David Carruthers and more are on board, and organiser Bob Houston joined us to talk more about it.

Looking grim for 1877 convent (photos, video)
Queenstown's 140-year-old Dominican convent is on borrowed time. Home to the resort's Dominican Sisters for more than 130 years, the stone building has been unoccupied since 2003 and is considered earthquake-prone.

Stained-glass artist reluctant to part with chapel windows (photos)
The face behind the new windows in the Sacred Heart Girls College's [New Plymouth] chapel is smiling. Eltham-based Paul Burgham has spent more than 18 months preparing, creating and fitting the chapel with its new stained-glass windows, and said he was pleased,  although he admitted it was a matter of "as happy as you can be with your own work".

STATION XV

Episode 112 — New year, new approach, new relationship, new lyrics (January 16, 2017)

Pope Francis has expressed optimism that 2017 can be a good year while also acknowledging the deadly start to the year in Turkey and the challenge of people embracing peace and rejecting hatred. The Pope has also called for bishops to redouble their efforts in stamping out child sexual abuse in the Church. The Vatican is looking to strengthen ties with China, but China has its own views of how the Church should be allowed to operate in the Communist country. Cardinal John Dew wants to strengthen the Church's ties with young people, showing them what a life in service of others can offer. In Sri Lanka, a Christmas carol service offered something a bit different, with the wrong Hail Mary lyrics printed in the hymn booklet. Join Don, James and Gavin for another wide-ranging episode of The 15th Station.

Parsing Pope Francis's puzzling take on religion in China
