Priest returns to ministry after 14 years

welcomed back into active priestly ministry in the Auckland diocese
during a ceremony at St Michael's Church, Remuera, on September 22...

Bishop Patrick Dunn of Auckland was surprised to learn that a
Vatican-based news service had reported him as proposing a "radical
reform of the sacrament of Penance" to the Synod of Bishops...

Singable music sought for liturgical use
A nationwide call has been issued for "new, quality, singable" music for
New Zealand Catholic liturgies in the new millennium. A collection
called Millennium Music has been instigated by a sub-committee of the
Auckland Diocesan Liturgy Commission...

for abuse in the wake of the September 11 terrorist attacks in America,
prompting local leaders of the faith currently meeting in Auckland to
use their gathering as an opportunity to call for social and religious
tolerance, and to affirm their commitment to New Zealand...
