Just when the earthquake damaged St Mary's Church, in Pleasant Point,
will be demolished is up in the air as the Catholic Diocese takes
control, but it is expected to be gone by the end of 2021. The
Historic Place Category 2 heritage building, opened in 1889, sustained
major damage in the Canterbury earthquakes and has been shut since
2011.

Timaru's Sacred Heart Basilica finalist in heritage awards

biennial Canterbury Heritage Awards. It is a Roman style basilica,

St Kevin's College is mourning the loss of one of its best and
brightest. Year 13 pupil Roko Watesoni Tawatatau Tuapati (17), known

shows the Society of Mary wants to construct a cleanfill over 17.4

consented works.
