Rain from the heavens delayed the move of Our Lady of Fatima Church
for four days last week. The parish hall in Innes Rd (Christchurch)
was loaded up on trucks in preparation for being moved on Monday, but
as pouring rain turned the new site to mud the move had to be delayed
until the land could dry out.

Manawatu secondary school students' book smarts are above average when
it comes to NCEA, with principals saying the extra effort put into
pupils is paying off. Hato Paora had a 100 per cent pass rate in
levels 1, 2 and 3 - a first for the school, principal Debra
Marshall-Lobb said. "We take considerable pride in these results, but
I'm not saying it happens all the time, it was an accumulation of five
years hard work."

once apprehensive about becoming involved in the sport. The
17-year-old frontrower impressed in his first season in the St Bede's
College First XV last year and will be a cornerstone for the side in
2014.
