LENT 2022: "Called to be peacemakers"
Lent is a period of forty days of prayer, fasting and almsgiving in preparation for Easter.
Each year the Lent Appeal is run by Caritas Aotearoa New Zealand on behalf of the New Zealand Catholic Bishops' Conference (NZCBC) to support its work of charity and justice for the poorest and most vulnerable around the world, including New Zealand.
Caritas makes resources available to guide reflection and prayer throughout the six weeks of Lent on the theme of the year.

A former Sancta Maria College (SMC) student has received a prestigious scholarship. Sydney Causer, who graduated in 2021, was recently awarded the Te Pokai Tara Sullivan Scholarship for 2022, which is the one of the few scholarships awarded annually in NZ to students of the Roman Catholic faith who will attend medical school at either the University of Auckland (UoA) or Otago.
