The story is woven into New Zealand folklore, retold as each anniversary comes up. Mother Suzanne Aubert was known for her work with the sick and the poor - setting up the country's first home for people who were permanently disabled, establishing a creche for working parents on Buckle St and The Compassion Soup Kitchen. The New Zealand Catholic Bishops, a national body for bishops, have been in Rome for a pilgrimage and a visit with Pope Francis. During their meeting with the Congregation for the Causes of Saints, the Vatican's agency on sainthood nominations, they spoke about Aubert and her potential status as a saint. ?
