Continental Stage of Pope's Synod on Synodality process begins
The next stage of Pope Francis' Synod on Synodality has begun with the Vatican overnight publishing the working document that brings together the many Synod syntheses from around the Catholic world including Aotearoa New Zealand ...

Archbishop Coveney was Nuncio (the diplomat who represents the Vatican) in Wellington from 1996 to 2005 and by his long service became Dean of the Diplomatic Corps here.

St Bede's College students have shown "bad judgment" after choosing a "Wife Beater Wednesday" dressup theme that was shut down 24 hours before going ahead, the school says. Synod organizers sell process as cementing Catholicism as church of 'both/and'
Retired Pope Benedict XVI once famously said in an address to a group of clergy that the inherent beauty of Catholicism is "the religion of the great 'both/and,'" meaning there is space for everyone. Benedict said that "Catholicism, a little simplistically, has always been considered the religion of the great 'both/and,' not of great exclusions, but of syntheses.
