NZ CATHOLIC BISHOPS' CONFERENCE

** Parish priest Fr Chris Friel is excited about the completion of work to re-copper Sacred Heart Basilica in Timaru, one of New Zealand's iconic Catholic churches.

** Our bishops received a lovely letter from Archbishop Pinter, who will take up the post of Apostolic Nuncio (the Pope's ambassador) to New Zealand and the Pacific later this year.

** In the wake of last week's final report of the Royal Commission of Inquiry into Abuse in Care, Bishop John Adams of Palmerston North discusses changes within Church culture, as well as improved processes and protocols.

** Some good news from Bishop Steve, who has visited our former Apostolic Nuncio, Archbishop Novatus Rugambwa, in Rome.

Meanwhile, Palmerston North Bishop John Adams – a supporter of the conservative theology the Sons of The Most Holy Redeemer are known for – hasn't ruled out accepting the order's priests into his diocese, should they ask.
