The 'NZ Catholic' newspaper has published a special issue, on sale today,
commemorating the fortieth anniversary of the end of the Second Vatican
Council (1962-1965). In it, New Zealanders recall their personal experiences
of Vatican II and its aftermath, and overseas writers reflect on the changes

Dominican Sister Judith Robinson said yesterday after seeing the Te
Tomairangi Marae and Kohanga Reo, in Eye St, which was razed by fire early
yesterday morning. Sister Judith said the marae, which was opened in 1992,
was used initially as a Kohanga Reo for Maori children during the week, and
at the weekends doubled as a church for mihoi, Catholic mass...

Blenheim doctor Paul Fogarty, 99, passed away last Tuesday at Bethsaida
Retirement Village in Blenheim after outliving his wife, siblings and many
of his friends. Dr Fogarty's funeral was held today at St Mary's Catholic
