Text, whether in books or on the internet, was written by a person or several people, but defining an author is not that easy, according to Dr Simone Celine Marshall. A medieval specialist in the English department at the University of Otago, she is curating "Faces of Authorship: Constructing the author in medieval and early modern books" in the de Beer Gallery in the University of Otago Central Library, which opens tomorrow.

A former Blenheim woman seriously injured in a hit-and-run incident in Auckland last year has died suddenly. Lynette Joy Kilmartin was found dead on Sunday. Her death has been referred to the coroner.
