Monsignor Paul Cronin, OBE, was Vicar General of the Catholic diocese of Auckland, parish priest of Sacred Heart Parish in Ponsonby and administrator of St Joseph's in Grey Lynn and Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Herne Bay. Before retiring from the military in 1984, he was pastoral administrator for 24 chaplains of different faiths.

The past four months have been exceptionally hard for Rotorua teenager Tino Iulio-Filipo since his father died of renal failure. However, a late Christmas present of a restored bike has perked him up as he prepares for another year of high school.
