it. The ruined mansion that was renamed Antonio Hall in the 1980s
could be the setting for a film like Crimson Peak: a once magnificent
building that has fallen into melancholy disrepair...

among the first Irish Catholics here. But this month, as they laid to
rest their brother Fr Paul Mahoney with their parents Thomas (Tim) and
Marie at Invercargill's Eastern Cemetery, John, David and Tim Mahoney
recognised they were the last of their line here, and all three are
long established with partners and families in the North Island.

What's on Pope Francis' plate for the first part of 2016
http://www.cruxnow.com/church/2016/01/07/whats-on-pope-francis-plate-for-the-first-part-of-2016/
Pope Francis is famously a pontiff who seems to be missing an "off"
switch, but the first quarter of 2016 shapes up as a period so dense
with activity it may tax even his prodigious reservoirs of energy.
From foreign policy challenges to a potential turning point in
Catholic/Jewish relations, from a six-day trip to Mexico that includes
a stop at the US border, to a jam-packed schedule for his jubilee Year
of Mercy, the opening part of the year promises to be full of drama...
