Local Synod process getting a welcome four extra months (5 Dec 2021)
Catholic dioceses and parishes around Aotearoa New Zealand will be welcoming the Vatican's four-month extension for the local phase of the Synod process. The General Secretariat of the Synod of Bishops recently moved the April 2022 deadline of the first (local) phase of the two-year international synodal process to 15 August ...

Christmas Appeal: Kiwifruit contractor donates $1 for every hour worked in new initiative
Luciano Garcia, a kiwifruit contracting company boss, has pledged to donate $1 per hour worked, per person to the Tauranga Community Foodbank. Rowing students and parents from Aquinas College were the first of two groups to pull together for a day's paid work on a kiwifruit orchard.

Former Tongan deputy principal laid to rest: 'No doubt we will feel the loss', says Auckland's McAuley HS tribute
The body of a beloved Tongan teacher who taught at McAuley High School in Otahuhu, Auckland was laid to rest at Manukau Memorial Gardens yesterday December 11. Soane Malia Kauhalaniua, 49, died after being recently diagnosed with lung cancer.

Auckland pupil tests positive, 25 pupils and three staff isolating
A pupil at St Anne's Catholic School in Auckland has tested positive for Covid, forcing a further 25 pupils and three staff to get tested and self-isolate.
