Parish priest to leave post after nearly 50 years of service
After half a century as a parish priest, Fr Wayne Healey is retiring, sort of. Fr Healey will retire next week after nearly 50 years service as a Catholic priest, including 17 years in North Otago. But he says his retirement does not mean he will stop serving.

The Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests (SNAP) in Aotearoa says the Catholic Church in New Zealand is still failing to properly respond to credible allegations of clerical and religious child sexual abuse.
