By his own admission, Father Hans Zollner's job is "dark, bleak and heavy". Often described as the Pope's expert in the fight against child abuse, he has heard countless tales from those who have suffered at the hands of priests. Catholic pilgrimage ends in Christchurch (text, photo, video)
Students from St Bede's College carried a four metre cross down Barbadoes St on Friday afternoon, taking park in World Youth Day, an international Catholic event. They joined 170 Catholic school students at Catholic Cathedral College who had gathered to stage a Kiwi version of World Youth Day, a global youth event organised by the Catholic church.

Volunteer chaplain assistants lend an ear in hospitals across North (photo)
Volunteer chaplain assistants Lance Ireson and Jack and Frances Freeman have been lending an ear to patients for almost thirty years between them. The trio are part of the Northland District Health Board's (NDHB) hospital chaplaincy service which has 39 volunteers across the region's four hospitals.

Priory future gets clean slate (photo)
Almost half a million dollars of funding has allowed plans for a new roof for Dunedin's Dominican Priory to go ahead. 

A life full of adventures (photo)
Pruning 300 pine trees, decades of social work, teaching in Africa and Samoa, writing in Spain, Marrakesh and Washington DC, cooking Christmas dinner on a yacht, training a heading dog, publishing a novel, undertaking a national survey on sexual abuse and organising conferences at Flock House. You could say Carmel Hurdle has had a full life.

A skilled, loyal and devoted employee, and Ray Watson was all that, can learn a fledgling business while it is a second job, can take on full employment and help it grow and expand and then teach the tricks of the trade to another generation, and all in the years of a normal working life.
