Father Felix Donnelly died in Auckland on Monday 26 August. He was Director of Religious Education for the Auckland Diocese 1962-1971 and for 20 years a talkback host on Radio Pacific. Donnelly was a controversial commentator on issues in relation to human sexuality.

After a full-on two months - culminating in her 200m freestyle gold medal - she is nearly done.

Even though euthanasia has been legal in the Netherlands since 2002, many questions still arise as to how far doctors are allowed to go. And now for the first time in Dutch history, a doctor is on trial after performing euthanasia on a woman suffering from severe dementia, who may have had second thoughts about wanting to die.

Since 1914, the entrance to this tiny Protestant campsite in a vast Catholic forest has displayed a tongue-in-cheek commentary on its environment: A single flickering candle atop a Bible with the Latin phrase Lux Lucet in Tenebris, meaning, "A light shines in the darkness."
