http://www.nzherald.co.nz/index.cfm?c_id=1&ObjectID=10119473
Pride may be a sin but I think we can forgive the newly installed Archbishop
of Wellington, John Dew, for wanting to show off a little. In any case, it
is a thing - albeit a grandly named thing - he is keen on showing off...

Journalism given up to follow the greatest story ever told . Brian Scanlan
Priest (obituary)
http://tinyurl.com/52l3w
Fr Brian Joseph Scanlan may have been a priest for about 50 years, but but
his days as a journalist continued to influence his life. For Fr Scanlan,
who died on March 17 aged 79, his life as a journalist and a Roman Catholic
priest were intertwined. Bishop Len Boyle described at Fr Scanlan's funeral
how for many years he tapped out church stories on what he called his "old
faithful typewriter"....

day. Father Jim Lyons, media co-ordinator for the tour, suggested that
perhaps someone at the Vatican had looked at a map of New Zealand and
thought it was an offshore island warranting just a short hop...
