New Christchurch Catholic cathedral will be built on Barbadoes St site
Christchurch's new Catholic cathedral will be built on Barbadoes Street, Bishop Michael Gielen announced in a pastoral letter to the Catholic community this weekend. In the letter, titled "Returning to Our Roots, Embracing Our Future", Bishop Gielen said the decision was reached after hearing from a range of key advisers and technical experts, as well as the responses to a survey of the wider community ...



** Thursday April 25 is Anzac Day, which commemorates New Zealanders killed in war and honours returned and serving servicemen and women. The National Liturgy Office has prayers and other resources for this special day.

** The new Catholic cathedral in Christchurch will be built on the Barbadoes Street site of the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament destroyed in the 2011 earthquake, Bishop Michael Gielen has announced.
