New Zealander to attend meeting of young people at Vatican
In March, New Zealand will take part in an international meeting in Rome of young minds on youth and their faith in preparation for the October Synod of Bishops on Young people, faith and vocation discernment. Joining the meeting, which will take place over four days in the Vatican, will be Wellingtonian Isabella McCafferty who has been appointed by the New Zealand Catholic Bishops Conference (NZCBC) as the New Zealand Catholic Church's representative at the meeting ...

Christchurch Catholics are mourning the death of a "quirky" priest and flying instructor who died in a motorcycle crash. Father Graeme Blackburn, 33, was riding on Purau Port Levy Rd when he collided with a car on Monday.

Deputy Prime Minister and New Zealand First leader Winston Peters may be a controversial politician to some but to embroidery artist Amy Baker, of Kingston, he is a prizewinner. At the 11th annual Craigs Aspiring Art Prize ceremony at the Holy Family Catholic School in Wanaka on Friday night,  Baker was runner-up in the supreme award, the Craigs Investment Partners Prize, for her embroidered portrait of Mr Peters, entitled Had Enough? Baker said she started embroidering political portraits only a year ago and Mr Peters' was her third, after Donald Trump and Gareth Morgan.
