Caritas Aotearoa New Zealand: Lent in schools
http://www.caritas.org.nz/schools/lent-schools
For Lent 2015 the theme is "Light a fire in the heart of the world",
taken from Pope Francis' apostolic exhortation Evangelii Gaudium (The
Joy of the Gospel).

The primary purpose of this year's Lenten resources is to educate
young people about the vulnerability of nations to natural disasters.
The aim of Caritas and its partners in the Pacific and in the
Philippines, is to go beyond the stage of simple material distribution
of basic supplies to rebuilding in such a way that communities are
less vulnerable to future events.

The resources are available on the linked Website.

Lately I visited Akaroa on the Banks Peninsula. Their museum and
Catholic church (St.Patrick's), contain nineteenth century busts of
local Maori - Tangatahara, and Frenchman - Bishop Pompallier. These
two objects immediately haunted me - and became a starting point for
this evolving body of work...
