Christian faiths losing out to other religions (photo)
In the battle for believers, Christianity is losing out to religions such as Hinduism, Buddhism and Islam. A Massey University study, Changing Patterns of Auckland Religion, has found that with the exception of Catholicism, membership of all mainstream Christian denominations has fallen to historic lows.

Devotion to the Catholic Church has played a huge part in Isobel Walsh's life - and Pope Benedict XVI has honoured her for her service. Mrs Walsh was presented with the Benemerenti Medal at a mass and ceremony at the St Theresa of Lisieux parish in Invercargill yesterday afternoon.
