A victim of abuse at Marylands School in Christchurch says a new investigation is overdue but he hopes it will result in justice.

Accuser believes others were abused
A Christian Brother allegedly sexually assaulted a young boy while working at a Dunedin school — the same school where the man's brother assaulted several boys. Brother Don Murray was subject to a complaint in 2018, relating to a series of incidents during his time at St Paul's High School in the 1970s.

A Waikato parishioner has tested negative for Covid-19 after coming into indirect contact with the Auckland coronavirus cluster. Father Mark Field, a priest at catholic churches in Morrinsville, Te Aroha and Paeroa, confirmed to Stuff the parishioner unknowingly met someone who had been in contact with another person from the Auckland cluster.

A new bid to restore historically-significant headstones in Akaroa has been launched as the Christchurch City Council re-evaluates spending in the wake of the global pandemic.

Parishioners hoping to save century-old church to canvass wider community
Julia Dawkins was married at St Francis de Sales Church in Renwick. So were her parents and her son. Dawkins was also baptised at the church and it hosted her children's first communion. She is one of a small group of parishioners trying to save the 112-year-old church from closure.
