A new Catholic Bishop of Christchurch has been appointed nearly two years after his predecessor's death. One of Father Paul Martin's key decisions will be to approve the restoration of the earthquake-damaged Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament.

A woman of great compassion and kindness, Lucy dedicated her long life to serving God's work and helping those less fortunate than herself.
